God led Pastor Crisman here to serve on the staff at Calvary in August of 2006. In August of 2007, in the absence of a pastor, he was asked to serve as Acting Pastor. In November of 2007, Calvary extended the call for Pastor Crisman to be our Pastor.
Here is a brief overview of Pastor Crisman's testimony. He grew up under the ministry of his father, John D. Crisman, who served for 44 years as Pastor of the First Baptist Church in Wardensville, WV. Realizing his personal need of a Savior, he was convicted of sin and received Christ as his Savior at the age of five. He later followed the Lord in believers baptism.
As a teenager, he surrendered his life to Christ in a Sunday morning service. The Lord then called him to preach during a youth conference he attended at Gospel Light Baptist Church in Walkertown, NC.
The Holy Spirit directed him to Crown College in the fall of 1995. He received excellent Bible training in the heart of a growing independent Baptist church. He thanks the Lord for the local church emphasis he received under the direction of Pastor Clarence Sexton and the Temple Baptist Church in Powell, TN. He graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Pastoral Theology and a Masters Degree in Ministry. He was ordained into the Gospel ministry by the First Baptist Church of Wardensville, WV. on October 4, 2002.
In the summer of 2002, he and his wife, Bethany, were married. They have three beautiful children, Lillian, who is six years old, Seth who is five years old, and Lucianne who is two years old. They thank the Lord for the privilege to serve the Lord along side the folks at Calvary Independent Baptist Church.
